A Short History of the Internet

Evolution and growth of the internet

The history of computers dates back in the 1950’s when the electronic computers were developed. Vintage forms of communication like telegraph, letters, telephone and radio had various challenges. The internet was shared through physical telephone lines which were further connected through the server for internet access to connected computers. In late 1960s, the technology was overtaken by events, and then ARPANET technology took center stage. Commitment to research and design to increase network coverage to various areas, made internet designers improve the technology for internet provision. The analog technology made the use of the satellite as a medium for internet connection integrated with the dial-up connection for LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network). Currently, the digital technology uses the fiber optic cable integrated with the cloud computing technology to offer internet access.
